Backpacks, Supplies, and Support: Bronx Families Gather for Back-to-School Celebration

Catholic Charities Community Services and Astor Services partnered to host a Back-to-School Party in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, distributing hundreds of backpacks filled with supplies.

With families facing average costs of $628–$741 per child for school essentials, the event offered not just practical help but also community spirit, music, food, and resources to start the school year with confidence.
