Bishop Dunn Memorial School to Host Cupcake 5K in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – Runners of all ages, get ready to taste victory (and confections) at Bishop Dunn Memorial School’s seventh annual Cupcake 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 21.

The event, featuring a race for adults and another for children 10 and younger, will be held at Mount Saint Mary College, 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh. To register or for more information, visit https://runscore.runsignup.com/Race/NY/Newburgh/BDMSCupcake5kRunWalk

Refreshments – including cupcakes – will be provided by local businesses. Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for the students of Bishop Dunn.

Adult Race: Run or walk on a beautiful scenic route through the Mount campus, overlooking the Hudson Valley with river views. The race route starts on the track around the baseball field and continues through the campus. It loops around twice before coming to the finish line behind Bishop Dunn Memorial School.

The adult race starts at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $25 for 5K pre-registrants, and pre-registration ends September 18. Same-day registration is $30 in cash or check made payable to Bishop Dunn Memorial School. The first 100 pre-registered 5K entrants will receive a T-shirt.

Mini Cupcake Race: The Mini Cupcake Race is a quarter-mile fun run for children 10 and younger. The race starts at 9 a.m., and the cost is $10. Pre-registration ends September 12.
