Bishop Joseph Espaillat, Auxiliary Bishop of New York, continues his series on the Seven Effects of the Eucharist with a reflection this week on the sixth effect: it prepares us for death.

If we believe that when we receive the Eucharist that we are receiving the Lord, he says, then when the Lord calls us home, we will be ready to greet Him.
