Today we celebrate the feast of Mary, Mother of the Church. The Church is our mother and the Church also has a Mother and her name is Mary. The beautiful title of Mother of the Church has been around for a long time, but it was Pope Francis who made it a feast day. At Pentecost, Mary was there with the Apostles when the Church was born, so it makes sense that we celebrate her the following day.
