The Jeanne Jugan Residence run by the Little Sisters of the Poor in the Bronx, welcomed Cardinal Dolan on Wednesday for Mass and lunch with the residents.
This home is dedicated to helping the elderly poor. This mission was the special apostolate of the order’s foundress, St. Jeanne Jugan, the 19th-century French woman who dedicated her life to caring for the aged who lacked the means and family to care for them.
Cardinal Dolan praised the sisters for the work they do.
