The upcoming release date of the documentary film coincides with Pope Francis’ canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint of the Catholic Church, on April 27.

The highly anticipated documentary explores the life and legacy of the soon-to-be Saint Carlo Acutis and how he navigated the modern world. It tackles urgent technology-related questions, examining how the virtual landscape threatens our fundamental understanding of what it means to be human.

The film also tracks the journey of a group of high school students who embark on a two-week pilgrimage from North Dakota to Italy to visit Acutis’ tomb. A requirement for their pilgrimage was to disengage from technology and leave their phones at home.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be once again working with our friends at Fathom Entertainment,” said Tim Moriarty, writer, director, and producer of “Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality” and CEO of Castletown Media.

“Fathom’s longstanding trust in our work on projects such as ‘Mother Teresa: No Greater Love,’ a Knights of Columbus film, and ‘Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist,’ a Spirit Filled Hearts film, allows us to bring compelling, faith-filled stories to audiences across the country,” Tim added.

“The folks at Fathom have a deep understanding of how to bring inspiring, faith-based films to audiences,” said producer Jim Wahlberg. “With their reach and expertise, we have no doubt that ‘Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality’ will be a hit at the box office and, more importantly, touch the hearts of countless moviegoers.”

“Fathom Entertainment is very pleased to join forces once again with Tim, Jim, and the passionate team at Castletown Media to bring this heartfelt and uplifting documentary film to the big screen,” said Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer at Fathom Entertainment. “This captivating real-life, modern-day story is sure to resonate with audiences of all faiths and backgrounds, leaving a lasting impact and inspiring countless hearts.”

The documentary film features Carlo’s family and friends sharing their first-hand experiences and his impact on their lives. And features well-known voices in the Catholic Church and technology experts who offer a model for young people to engage in the digital world.

In a world losing itself to screens, teenage mystic Carlo Acutis saw beyond the social media-addicted society we live in and offered an answer… if we’re willing to listen.
