From 1986, until her move to the Newburgh Center of Hope in 2002, Sister ministered at the motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Fall River as driver, weekend cook, and member of the infirmary staff.

Sister Barbara served in the music ministry at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish in the Bronx from 1979 to 1984 and at Our Lady Queen of the Angels Parish in New York City from 1989 to 1990.
