Shannon Kelly, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster announced this week that Anna Villani, LCSW, MPA, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the not-for-profit behavioral health and human service agency.

As COO, Anna oversees and manages Catholic Charities’ daily operations, including staffing, quality assurance, budgeting, and program expansion, while working in close collaboration with the CEO and board of directors.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome Anna to Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster,” Kelly said. “As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she brings to us decades of experience and expertise in the fields of behavioral health and human services. Her most recent position as senior administrative director for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programming at NYC Health and Hospitals’ Bellevue Hospital is especially valuable to this agency as we continue to be on the frontlines in the battle against the disease of addiction.”

In her role at Bellevue, Villani served as administrator for the hospital’s NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) licensed programs which provide a continuum of care for SUD treatment and recovery support. She managed an $11.6 million operating budget with a total of $1 million in grant money, was responsible for the environment of care and patient experience, and worked to ensure staff had the tools and support necessary for self-care in a challenging work environment.

Villani earned her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University, an Executive Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College, and an undergraduate degree in psychology from St. John’s University. She is a member of the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for public administration, has served as an adjunct professor at CUNY Lehman College, and is a frequent presenter on behavioral health topics. She is Bronze Belt certified in the LEAN process and a fluent speaker of Italian.

Villani splits her time between Catholic Charities offices in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.

Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan is one of the human service agencies of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York.
