March has brought the start of Lent and the ongoing work of the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal. Each parish in the Archdiocese of New York will hold a Commitment Weekend this month, focused on asking the faithful to give to support the work of the Church. Please check your parish bulletin for specific details on when your parish will participate (March 8-9, March 15-16, or March 22-23).
Lent calls us, among other things, to almsgiving—pledging together within each parish—a powerful way to answer that call and help those in need. Your commitment provides:
- Faith formation programs
- Support for struggling parishes and Catholic schools
- Outreach to those in need
- Care for our retired clergy, and so much more
The video above from Cardinal Dolan describes the Appeal and its impact in more detail.
First pastoral visit brought the archbishop to the East Harlem school and the Franciscan Sisters.
