In today’s readings, most of the people of Nazareth do not believe in Jesus. Everything that happens to Him can happen to us if we truly follow His teachings. The saint we celebrate today, St. Francis de Sales, reminds us with his life and teachings that anyone can follow Jesus Christ in our own way in our own time.
Sr. Constance Gaynor, FSP, devoted seven decades to serving the vulnerable as a social worker, administrator, and author of her congregation’s history. A founding member of the Franciscan Sisters of Peace, she led children’s homes, directed the Religious Leaders Program at Notre Dame, and taught English to immigrants well into her 90s.
