The annual Women’s Day at Graymoor will be held this summer at the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement‘s Holy Mountain Retreat Center in Putnam County’s Garrison.

The fourth annual gathering is set for Thursday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“You’re invited to the 4th Annual Women’s Day at Graymoor! Strengthen your spiritual well-being during this remarkable event,” the Friars state on their website. “Every activity is intentionally designed to help you honor important women in your life, including yourself and the new friends you will make.” The retreat will have a mirror theme: “See the Gift You Are.” It will include a talk by Kacey Morabito-Grean, executive director of the retreat center.

The event schedule is as follows: 10 a.m., Reception/Morning Gathering; 11 a.m., Celebration of the Eucharist; 12 p.m., Complimentary Luncheon; 1 p.m., Update on the Friars’ Ministries. RSVP by Thursday, August 6, to Patricia Fletcher at (845) 424-2143.

“They really love it; it’s a very nice gathering, we had about 200 women here last year,” Fletcher, administrative assistant for Mission Support at Graymoor, told The Good Newsroom. “It brings women of all ages and walks together based on our faith. We start with a Mass … And they get to know all that Graymoor does and has to offer. The Women’s Day retreat will be free, but donations are accepted.”

The Friars’ ministries include:

At the top of the mountain, Holy Mountain Retreat Center is ideal for larger groups seeking a modern, spacious environment with multiple amenities.

Our Lady of Atonement Retreat House at the bottom of the mountain offers a more intimate, peaceful setting perfect for smaller gatherings and quiet reflection.

Ecumenical and Interfaith Dialogue: Servant of God Father Paul of Graymoor believed it was a special calling that he and his Friars should work toward unity of the Church and all people.

Healing Ministries: “We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way.” , St. Francis of Assisi.

San Damiano House and Farm: It is a life-giving ministry of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, dedicated to serving men in recovery from addiction. It opened at Graymoor in Garrison in October 2017.

Graymoor Books and Gift Center: The store offers books, cards, gifts, devotional items, and recovery support materials. All proceeds from the store benefit the ministries of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement.
