In New York, the Medical Aid in Dying Act, or MAID, is on its way to Governor Hochul’s desk for its final decision before becoming law. The documentary “Life After” highlights the silencing of disabled voices on this issue and the possible loss of health care that the disabled community is forced to undergo in the wake of these bills.

For more on what the archdiocese is doing to provide compassionate alternatives to the disabled community, watch The Good Newsroom’s interview with ArchCare’s Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Taimur Mirza.

Those who would like their voices heard ahead of Governor Hochul’s decision can contact her office at 1-518-474-8390 or fill out the contact form at governor.ny.gov/content/governor-contact-form.

“Life After” is touring the country, hosting screenings through August 22. To learn more about the film and its message, visit www.lifeafterfilm.com.
