HARTSDALE — Maria Regina High School’s marching band will once again make history as the only all-girls ensemble to perform in the 2025 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Monday, March 17.

This will mark the third consecutive year that the talented musicians from the renowned Catholic high school in Hartsdale have earned this distinction in the world’s oldest and largest parade honoring Ireland’s patron saint, which dates back to 1762.

The Maria Regina band, established just four years ago in 2021, will join approximately 150,000 marchers, including various bands from throughout the New York metropolitan area. The parade route will pass by His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, who will review the procession from the steps of St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Fifth Avenue. An estimated two million spectators are expected to line both sides of the avenue from 44th Street to 79th Street.

The Maria Regina High School all-girls marching band will be in position at approximately 1 p.m. on West 47th Street near Fifth Avenue. They are scheduled to begin marching at approximately 1:50 p.m., stepping off from West 47th Street and proceeding up Fifth Avenue to 79th Street.

The New York State Catholic Conference joins Governor Hochul in urging delay of federal eligibility changes that could affect 1.7 million adults.
