On Sunday, August 31, the final day of the Francophone African Charismatique Catholique Conference took place at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. The event gathered hundreds of members of the Francophone African community from across the United States and Canada. It was a joyous celebration of the Catholic faith across the Francophone African community.
Special guest, Archdiocese of New York Auxiliary Bishop Edmund J. Whalen, celebrated Mass and confirmed several recent converts. It was a major event for the Francophone African community, which is growing in the archdiocese.
The group is visiting Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Israel to show support for beleaguered Christian communities.
