National Conference in The Bronx Celebrates Catholic Faith Across Francophone African Community

On Sunday, August 31, the final day of the Francophone African Charismatique Catholique Conference took place at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. The event gathered hundreds of members of the Francophone African community from across the United States and Canada. It was a joyous celebration of the Catholic faith across the Francophone African community.

Special guest, Archdiocese of New York Auxiliary Bishop Edmund J. Whalen, celebrated Mass and confirmed several recent converts. It was a major event for the Francophone African community, which is growing in the archdiocese.

Collectively, members of the Class of 2026 have earned more than $900 million in college scholarships, with 83 percent of graduates receiving scholarship offers.
