Nearly 500 faithful gathered at the Pontifical Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in East Harlem on July 16 to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with Mass, Brown Scapular enrollment, and a multilingual procession through the neighborhood. The celebration also marked the Carmelite family’s observance of the 300th anniversary year of the feast’s extension to the universal Church.
