The world will mark a grim milestone on February 24 as we approach the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
One year of war and bloodshed that has claimed tens of thousands of lives and triggered the largest refugee crisis since World War II.
An ecumenical prayer service for peace in Ukraine will take place Saturday, February 18 at 2 PM in St. Patrick’s Cathedral hosted by His Eminence Cardinal Dolan and His Grace Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, the Ukrainian Catholic Archbishop of Philadelphia.
We spoke with Archbishop Gudziak during his recent trip to Ukraine on why this prayer vigil is so important, especially now.
Monsignor Luke Sweeney, S.T.L., is the dean of seminarians and professor of Catholic social teaching at St. Joseph's Seminary. We spoke with him about the next generation of priests, the upcoming comprehensive exams at the seminary, and how we can respect God's creation.
