NEW ROCHELLE — Iona Preparatory School celebrated 10 standout scholar-athletes on National Signing Day, recognizing a major milestone in their academic and athletic journeys. Athletic Director Ryan Mahoney, along with school leaders and coaches, praised the students for their dedication, sportsmanship, and commitment both in the classroom and on the field. The celebration marked a proud moment for the Iona Prep community as these student-athletes officially began the start of their collegiate careers.
The 10 students will play for 10 different universities in four sports:
Football
- CJ Malespin – Union College, Division III
- Joe Wolf – Bucknell University, Division I
- Eric Pirrello – Fordham University, Division I
- Abraham Guerrero – Carnegie Mellon University, Division III
- Brennen Pressley – Gannon University, Division II
Baseball
- Kayden Ceballos – Post University, Division II
- Jeff Maldari – Anderson University, Division II
Soccer
- Marko Matesic – Manhattan University, Division I
- Elliot Cornejo – Mount Saint Mary’s University, Division I
Track and Field
- Jon Gallino – Franklin and Marshall College, Division III

Sister Rose served the Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine for 75 years as a spiritual director, formation director, and RCIA coordinator, leading parishes across New York, South Carolina, and Florida, and serving as president of the congregation from 2010 to 2014.
