A Word from Cardinal Dolan: Atonement

Are you familiar with this Catholic expression, “Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa”? It’s Latin for “Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault.”
It’s an act of sorrow to the Lord admitting we are sinners.
In his video today, Cardinal Dolan reflects on the importance of atonement as well Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement.
In his homily from this morning’s Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fr. Enrique Salvo looks at how today’s Gospel is more prescient than ever. We are still on the way to Heaven. Through the grace of God, we are invited to examine ourselves and find peace.
