By: Archbishop Ronald Hicks

Archbishop Ronald A. Hicks was named the Grand Prior of the USA Eastern Lieutenancy of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem on Oct. 17 at the annual Investiture Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, in keeping with tradition for the Archbishop of New York.

Michael La Civita, director of communications at the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), appeared on the archbishop’s SiriusXM series, All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks, to discuss the honor and the importance of the order’s mission.

“We’re called to pray, to be better Christians, to be better human beings, to support that Church, to support the people that the Church is called to serve in living the Gospel…” La Civita explained the order’s mission on the show. “This is a real vocation with a specific charism and with the obligations to the Holy Land.”

Archbishop Hicks shares a personal connection to the “good and noble” order, as he has long participated in their activities while he was in Chicago and Joliet.

“I believe highly in the work and the mission of what this group represents,” the archbishop said.

“What I love about it is it’s truly rooted in prayer, in faith, it’s an extension of who and what we are,” he continued.

This conversation is part of All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks on SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel (129) and Catholic Faith Network.

If you have a question for the archbishop, you can send it by email to catholicchannel@siriusxm.com for a chance to be answered on “All Good Things.”
