Archbishop Ronald A. Hicks, Archbishop of New York, will celebrate a special Memorial Mass to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 5 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, will be among the concelebrating bishops and priests. The Good Newsroom will livestream the event.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral played a critical role in the days and weeks following 9/11. Cardinal Edward Egan celebrated countless memorial and funeral Masses, most notably the Memorial Masses on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, 2001, that were televised around the world. In addition, many of those who perished that tragic day had their funeral Mass at the Cathedral.
