Following the beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen in St. Louis on Sept. 24, Bishop Louis Tylka of Peoria will bring a first-class relic of the newly Blessed to St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. The relic will then be available for public veneration. This is not the same relic as was presented at the beatification Mass.
At 5 p.m. that day, Archbishop of New York Ronald Hicks will celebrate a Mass of reception of the relic, joined by Bishop Tylka. The relic will then be placed on the cathedral’s Altar of the Holy Face. The Mass is open to the public.
